Infrared vs Traditional — which heat suits you?

1 of 2

What size do you need

  • 1 Person

Compact and apartment-friendly, a one-person sauna tucks into a spare corner, ensuite, or balcony nook. It heats fast, costs the least to run, and is perfect if it's just you unwinding after work or training.

  • 2 Person

Our most popular choice. There's room to share with a partner, or stretch out on your own. A two-person cabin is the sweet spot for most Australian homes — roomy enough to feel spacious, compact enough for a garage, deck, or spare room.

  • 3-4 person

Built for families and social soaks. A four-person sauna gives everyone space to relax together, with bench room to lie back. You'll want a dedicated spot with a bit more floor area, and some larger models run on a dedicated circuit — our team can check what your space needs.

Health benefits of infrared saunas

Full Spectrum VS Far Infrared

Full Spectrum

Full-spectrum saunas are designed to provide a broader range of infrared wavelengths through a combination of heating technologies. Along with even cabin warmth, targeted heaters create a more concentrated and noticeable heat around the body.

This makes full-spectrum models a strong choice for customers who prefer a more powerful sauna experience, faster-feeling warmth and greater flexibility between relaxing and more intensive sessions.

Best suited for:

  • Customers who prefer stronger, targeted heat
  • Post-workout relaxation and recovery routines
  • More intensive sauna sessions
  • Customers wanting a premium infrared experience
  • Households with different heat preferences

What the heat feels like:
More direct, concentrated and noticeable, particularly around the targeted heater areas.

Far Infrared

Far-infrared saunas use large carbon-fibre heating panels to spread soft, consistent warmth across a wide surface area. Rather than creating concentrated hot spots, the panels gently warm the cabin and surround the body with comfortable infrared heat.

Far-infrared models are ideal for customers who want a relaxing, easy-to-enjoy sauna for regular home use. The gentler heating style is particularly comfortable for longer sessions.

Best suited for:

  • Everyday relaxation and stress relief
  • Longer, comfortable sauna sessions
  • First-time sauna owners
  • Customers who prefer gentle, even warmth
  • Those looking for a practical and affordable home sauna

What the heat feels like:
Soft, balanced and evenly distributed throughout the sauna.

Before you buy — the checklist

Do I need an electrician to install an infrared sauna?

Usually not. Most of our 1–2 person infrared saunas plug straight into a standard 10A household power point — no electrician needed. Larger cabins and traditional saunas can require a dedicated 15A or hard-wired circuit; the product page lists the requirement, and our team is happy to check with you before you order.

Can I assemble it myself?

Yes. Our clip-together panel design means two people can usually put a home sauna together in well under an hour. Every sauna comes with step-by-step instructions, and our support team is on hand if you get stuck.

How much does a home sauna cost to run?

It depends on the model's wattage, how long and how often you use it, and your electricity rate. As a rough guide, an infrared session uses noticeably less energy than a traditional sauna, because it runs at a lower temperature and heats you rather than the whole room.

Are infrared saunas safe? What about EMF?

Infrared heat is simply gentle radiant warmth — the same kind you feel from the sun on your skin, without the UV. Our infrared saunas are engineered to ultra-low EMF levels. As with any sauna, stay hydrated, start with shorter sessions, and if you're pregnant or managing a health condition, check with your doctor first.
