Materials and Comfort Features

Our sauna cabins use Canadian hemlock with a clean, refined finish that suits modern interiors. Many models include comfort-focused features such as chromotherapy lighting and Bluetooth audio, helping you create a calming at-home sauna experience.

Choose the Right Sauna Size

Selecting the right size depends on your space and how you plan to use your sauna:

  • 1-Person Saunas – compact options for apartments, spare rooms, or dedicated wellness corners

  • 2-Person Saunas – comfortable space for couples or solo sessions with extra room to stretch

  • 3–4-Person Saunas – ideal for families and shared sessions, with wider benches and consistent heat distribution

Compare Sauna Types

Not sure which sauna style fits you best? Here’s a practical guide.

Infrared Saunas

Infrared saunas warm the body directly, creating a deep, comfortable session at lower ambient temperatures (typically 58°C–65°C). They are popular for frequent home use and efficient warm-up routines.

Why people choose infrared saunas

  • Comfortable heat profile for regular sessions

  • Efficient energy use and quick warm-up

  • Great for post-workout recovery routines and relaxation

Traditional Saunas

Traditional saunas heat the air for a classic sauna feel and higher temperature sessions (often 60°C–80°C, depending on the model and setup). If you want a more traditional sauna experience, this is the closest match.

Why people choose traditional saunas

  • Classic high-heat sauna experience

  • Strong “traditional sauna” atmosphere for dedicated sauna users

  • Ideal for those who prefer higher temperatures

Ultra-Low-EMF Saunas

Ultra-low-EMF models are designed for customers who want infrared benefits with very low electromagnetic output (for example, <1.5 mG at the bench, where stated by model).

Safety, Compliance and Sustainable Materials

Kylin sauna cabins are designed with safety and long-term reliability in mind. Where applicable, models carry AS/NZS 60335 compliance after third-party testing by accredited Australian labs. We also use FSC-certified Canadian hemlock, low-VOC adhesives, and robust electrical design to support durability.

Installation Made Simple

Most Kylin saunas are built for straightforward home assembly using modular wall panels and integrated locking systems (latch, screw, or inner-lock designs, depending on model). Many customers set up their sauna with two people and basic household tools.

Every sauna includes step-by-step installation instructions, and model-specific video guidance is available for additional clarity.

For traditional sauna models that require dedicated electrical work, installation should be completed by a licensed electrician. If you need help, our team can guide you through the requirements and recommended next steps.

Installation

DIY Installation

Our indoor saunas are suitable for fully sheltered patios, pergolas, and balconies —just ensure they are protected from rain and weather exposure. For extra protection, you may also consider our sauna cover options.

For infrared saunas, they are designed for easy DIY assembly in just 45 minutes! The panels include built-in electrical elements, so no electrician is required. Additionally, no plumbing or ventilation is needed in the room. Simply connect the panels using the provided buckles and plug them into a standard 10A domestic power socket. It comes flat-packed on a pallet, consisting of one or more packages.

For traditional saunas, the Harvia heater requires a higher power supply and does not come with a plug. It must be installed by a certified electrician in accordance with your home's electrical layout. No drainage is required. A drip tray catches any excess water, and with the low humidity and minimal water use, the floor and the tray can be easily cleaned as needed.

Which should I choose, an Infrared or a Traditional sauna?

Which sauna you choose depends on your personal preferences. People who have visited saunas regularly might prefer our traditional Finnish saunas, as they have a higher temperature and provide the classic sauna experience. Families and beginner sauna users might choose an infrared sauna, due to their power efficiency and more comfortable temperature.

What heater do your traditional saunas use?

Our traditional saunas use a sauna stove, specifically the Harvia Electric Heater. It provides ample heat for saunas of all sizes.

Why do Kylin saunas have chromotherapy lighting?

Chromotherapy (colour therapy) is believed to have a good impact on our mood and state of mind. Combined with the average sauna experience, chromotherapy can relax you further and aid your detox. Hence, Kylin gives you an advanced sauna experience without all the hassle.

How long should I use a Kylin sauna?

For beginners, we recommend using a sauna for 10-15 minutes per day to start. Staying a long time in a sauna without experience can lead to dehydration and overheating. Once you have built a tolerance and know your own limits, gradually increase your sauna time to 30 minutes or an hour and experience the difference. For pros, you can stay inside a Kylin sauna as long as you usually spend in a commercial sauna.
